Fiona Graham is a colourful creative, living in rural Manawatu, New Zealand.
My work is subversive. I take these traditional women’s skills and turn them inside out and they become, unexpectedly, art.

I had a childhood of textures, colours, and words. Of raucous, creative women laughing and arguing, cooking from scratch, sewing clothing, embroidering perfect cross-stitch, making everything. Of cats on benches, a whole set of Goldenhands books, poetry and stories. Of tiny tea sets and exquisite little things.
I have had a lifetime of moving boxes, starting again and again, finding friends, creating a home, applying for jobs. Of life in New Zealand, Australia, and Italy. Of learning, teaching, studying, sharing. Of Montessori, goddess culture, herstory.
I have, at last, a forever home. At last, a creative space. At last, the time to unpack everything.
